Script VO - Agent Carter

Flashback: Steve Rogers bids his final farewell to Peggy Carter as his plane disappears out of sight.

PEGGY: Give me your coordinates. I'll find you a safe landing site.
STEVE: There's not gonna be a safe landing, but I can try and force it down.
PEGGY: I'll get Howard on the line, he'll know what to do.
STEVE: Peggy ! This is my choice.

He plunged the plane.

STEVE: Peggy.

Communication is lost.

PEGGY: Steve ?... Steve?

S.R.R. OFFICE

One year later. Officers work at their office when the red code breaking . Everyone stands in front of his office and the leader answers the phone.

VOICE: Zodiac is on the move, crossing the white stone bridge in a green sedan. This enemy is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Two agents recommended. Please locate and pursue.

After noting the information, he hang up.

FLYNN: Miller, Johnson, Wilkes. Let's take them down.

The three agents are preparing and the others resume their work. The Chief goes to Peggy.

FLYNN: How are you holding up sweety ?
PEGGY: Quite bored actually.
FLYNN: Really ? I thought we were keeping you pretty busy around here.
PEGGY: Well, while my expertise is in the field, code breaking and data analysis have always come easy to me.
FLYNN: Well, we all just think you are doing a bang up job.

He begins from when she catches up.

PEGGY:  Agent Flynn, sir, it's been three months now and I've yet to have be sent on my first assignment.
FLYNN: Peggy, Relax. War is over. We'll handle the rough stuff.

Later, the tree agents come bac in the Chief office.

AGENT: They shot up your car. Sir, they came out of nowhere…
ANALYST: We're gonna need a full analysis on all recent transmissions,by tomorrow evening at the latest.

Peggy opened her drawer and takes a folder.

PEGGY: How about yesterday ?

He goes. When closing the drawer she sees the picture of Steve.

FLYNN: Carter ! The boys and I were heading out for a drink. You want to polish up those field reports on my desk ? I appreciate it darling. Don't forget to lock up when you're done.

They go.

FLYNN: What do you say boys, should we go to Nelson's ?  They got a nice Manhattans…

Peggy takes the folders on the Chief's office when the phone rings. She landed.

VOICE: We have a locked position on zodiac. Four, zero, point six five one eight degrees north, seven, three, point niner five two two degrees west. This enemy will not hesitate to use lethal force. 3-5 agents recommended.

She goes on the location places, alone.

MAN 1: You guys want to handle this ?
MAN 2: My pleasure.

Both men come out.

MAN 2: Mam, you can't be here.
MAN 3: We got a gas leak issue we're dealing with.
PEGGY: A gas leak ? No injuries I hope.
MAN 2: You're not from around here, are you?
PEGGY:  No, I live in Brooklyn actually.

She put them off. The first man takes his gun, but Peggy disappeared. He goes out to look for her when she gets behind him.

PEGGY: Drop it. Take this. Turn and move.

She bringing him rearward.

PEGGY: Where's Zodiac ?
MAN 1: End of the hallway on the right.
PEGGY: Drop it. Hands up.

She tied him.

PEGGY:How many men?
MAN 1: Four.
PEGGY:Four including you ? Now, I need you to scream for help.
MAN 1: Help! I need help!
MAN:  Guard the zodiac. You, come with me.

Two of the three guards are with the man who screams.

MAN 1: Help! I need help! Somebody please help me! Somebody help!
MAN: What happened ?

Peggy knock them

MAN 1: Help! Help!
PEGGY: Thanks, that's enough. One to go.

She leaves. The last man arrives.

MAN: Hey, what's going on out there ?

She pulls the door and throws a smoke bomb.

MAN: Let me out !

The man fainted. Peggy puts on a mask and enters. She grabs the Zodiac. A man stands behind her. They fight and the man strangled Peggy. She grabs a knife and plant him in the arm and knock him to free him. She takes his briefcase is back to tie man.

PEGGY: Learn to count.
MAN 1: Okay.

S.R.R OFFICE

The next morning. Peggy arrives.

FLYNN: What the hell do you think you're doing ?
PEGGY: Well, I was about to start some data analysis and code breaking.
FLYNN:  Don't get cute with me Lady. You took a mission last night.
PEGGY: I completed a mission last night.
FLYNN: Without even attempting to report in or get the proper authorization.
PEGGY: The mission was time sensitive.
FLYNN: There are protocols in place. No one is above protocols, not even captain america's old flame.
PEGGY: How dare you.
FLYNN: Please, let's stop pretending shall we. Everyone knows why you're here.
PEGGY: Please enlighten me.
FLYNN: You were grieving so they kept you on so that you would feel useful. I call it pity.
PEGGY: If they wanted to make me feel useful they wouldn't have made me work for you.

The phone rings. The agents are set up.

FLYNN: You're gonna answer for that.

He will answer the phone.

STARK: Who am I speaking to ?
FLYNN: This is Agent Flinn.
STARK: This is Howard.
FLYNN: Sir, I wasn't expecting...
STARK: I have orders for Agent Carter.
FLYNN: If this is about last night, rest assured she will be properly disciplined.
STARK: I'd say that last night more a notch in her belt than a feather in her cap.
FLYNN: Yes Sir, what are your orders ?
STARK:  Phillips and I want her to come to Washington.
FLYNN: Say again ?
STARK: Tell her she will be running S.H.I.E.L.D. with me.
FLYNN: Agent Carter ?
STARK  And Flynn !
FLYNN:  Yes sir.
STARK: Let her know that you're honored to bring her the news.
FLYNN: You want me to say that verbatim ?

Stark hangs up.

FLYNN: Hello ?… Mr. Stark ?

He hangs up and goes to Carter.

FLYNN: Agent Carter, it is my honor to inform you that you are going to run S.H.I.E.L.D. and I'd also like to assist you in carrying your personal items down to your car.
PEGGY:  Thank you Agent Flinn, but as has always been the case, I don't require your help.

STARK’S HOUSE

Howard and Dum Dum Duran drink at the pool in watching women.

STARK: It's called a bikini.
DURAN: A bikini ? You invent it ?
STARK: No, the French.
DURAN: Bikini...
