Épisode Scorch S01E05 - Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Saison 1

Hong Kong - Chan Ho Yin tente de gagner sa vie grâce à des spectacles de rue où il réalise des tours de magie. La soirée lui a peu rapporté, aussi décide-t-il d'éblouir les passants grâce à ses capacités pyrokinésiques. Une femme vêtue d'une robe à fleurs semble particulièrement intéressée par ses prouesses : Raina. Jouant de son charme, elle le suit jusque chez lui où des hommes en combinaisons ignifugées à sa solde font irruption et l'enlève.

Dans le Bus en vol - Les relations entre Skye et Ward s'améliorent. Ils disputent une partie de bataille navale afin d'évaluer les capacités de réflexion de la jeune femme. Postés plus loin, Coulson et May les observent et sourient, satisfaits de voir que les tensions se sont envolées.

La nouvelle du kidnapping de Chan Ho Yin tombe. Coulson réunit son équipe et explique que le S.H.I.E.L.D. connaît cet artiste de rue et lui a recommandé de cacher son don tout en le répertoriant. Skye est sidérée qu'un tel fichier existe et Coulson lui explique que c'est pour la protection de ces personnes qui ont des capacités extraordinaires. L'agent Kwan, qui est l'agent référent de Chan, a remarqué sa disparition et a averti le quartier général. Il a aussi signalé des cyber attaques dans le réseau menées a priori par Rising Tide. Tous les regards se portent alors sur Skye, la soupçonnant d'être à l'origine du pirate.  La jeune femme clame son innocence et propose son aide pour trouver le hacker responsable. 

Hong Kong - Pendant ce temps, Chan se réveille dans une maison où Raina lui explique les raisons qui l'ont poussée à l'enlever. Elle lui fait part de son désir de l'aider à développer à son don en échange de sa participation à des tests. Elle joue sur sa corde sensible en lui faisant miroiter qu'il sortira de l'ombre et sera enfin remarqué pour ce qu'il est, le comparant à Steve Rogers devenu Captain America et affirmant qu'il peut lui aussi être un super-héros. 

Dans le Bus - Skye remonte la piste du pirate informatique jusqu'à un dénommé Miles Lydon qui vit à Austin au Texas. Elle affirme le connaître uniquement de réputation. Alors que l'unité de S.H.I.E.L.D. de Hong Kong cherche toujours Chan, l'équipe de Coulson se rend à Austin pour appréhender le hacker.

Austin - Repéré, Miles Lydon parvient à semer les agents. Il rentre chez lui et où Skye l'attend. Elle a court-circuité ses partenaires et connaît le suspect bien plus qu'elle ne l'a dit. C'est lui qui l'a recrutée pour Rising Tide, qui l'a formée et c'est aussi son petit ami ! Leurs retrouvailles les mènent jusqu'au lit où ils font l'amour. Mais alors que Skye se lève plus tard pour chercher ses vêtements, elle trouve l'agent May face à elle qui, le visage fermé, l'attend de l'autre côté de la porte. Se fiant à son instinct, Melinda l'a suivie.

Skye présente des excuses à Coulson, mais il reste fâché contre elle. Il essaie de lui faire comprendre que les agissements de Miles, qu'elle pense inoffensif, ont mis en danger Chan. Phil ordonne l'arrestation du couple et demande à May d'emmener l'équipe et les prisonniers à Hong Kong. 

Hong Kong - Raina a conduit Chan dans un laboratoire clandestin où il doit subir un certain nombre de tests. Elle le convainc d'accepter l'injection d'un sérum qui doit temporairement décupler ses capacités. Elle l'observe ensuite en souriant, alors qu'il est surexcité en voyant de quoi il est capable. 

Dans le Bus - Au cours du vol qui les mène jusqu'en Chine, Skye et Miles sont intérrogés. Restés seuls, ils se disputent et la jeune femme s'aperçoit petit à petit qu'ils ne poursuivent plus les mêmes buts. Pendant ce temps, May et Coulson les observent. Quand Melinda lui demande ce que lui dit son instinct, il lui répond qu'il pense que Skye leur cache quelque chose. De leurs côtés, FitzSimmons passent au cible la vie du hacker, à la recherche d'informations utiles. Ils découvrent que Miles a fait plusieurs dépôts d'argent, peu de temps après le piratage du S.H.I.E.L.D. pour un montant d'un million de dollars. Skye est outrée quand Ward le lui révèle et elle laisse éclater sa colère. Miles confesse alors avoir été approché par une femme dans une robe à fleurs qui s'est présentée à lui comme une fan du groupe Rising Tide. Elle lui a dit qu'il avait un don et qu'il méritait plus que ce qu'il en retirait jusque-là. Avant d'accepter de l'aider, il affirme avoir vérifié la source de l'argent qu'on lui promettait et avoir trouvé qu'il venait d'un simple laboratoire de recherches sur des insectes. Quand il mentionne le mot 'Centipède', Ward et Skye comprennent aussitôt qu'il a été manipulé.

Hong Kong - Raina obtient la pleine coopération de Chan par la flatterie, lui proposant d'adopter le nom 'Torche' pour son futur statut de super-héros. Alors qu'il se prête de bonne volonté à toute une batterie de nouveaux tests, elle discute des résultats avec Debbie, la scientifique qui travaille sur le projet Centipède. Le but des deux femmes est d'exploiter Chan pour trouver un moyen de stabiliser le virus Extremis qui échappait à leur contrôle à Los Angeles, quand il a été utilisé sur Mike Peterson et son prédécesseur qui a fini en bombe humaine. Debbie comprend bientôt que les plaquettes sanguines de Chan sont résistantes au feu et ordonne leur extraction. 

Dans le Bus - Dans le même temps, Coulson recoupe les informations données par Miles Lydon et en déduit que l'organisation qu'il veut arrêter cherche à créer des super-soldats. Jemma et Fitz sont convaincus que, compte tenu de son don, les gènes de Chan pourraient stabiliser le sérum Centipède et que c'est la raison de son enlèvement. Coulson comprend que Chan est en grand danger et qu'il est urgent de le retrouver.

Hong Kong - Attaché sur une table d'examen, Chan commence à souffrir le martyre sous les regards indifférents de Debbie et Raina. Sans ces plaquettes, son corps ne peut plus résister à la chaleur qu'il génère et il commence à brûler de l'intérieur. Il réalise qu'elles n'ont fait que se servir de lui. 

Arrivé à Hong Kong, Coulson confie la garde des prisonniers à Ward et décide d'accompagner May sur le terrain. Miles fait part à Skye de ses regrets et tente de lui expliquer qu'il rêvait simplement d'un avenir meilleur pour eux deux, sans penser une seule seconde qu'il mettait en danger la vie de quelqu'un. Mais quelque chose s'est brisé en eux, et Skye préfère rompre avec lui.

Coulson et May retrouvent l'agent Quan et son unité du S.H.I.E.L.D. au pied de l'immeuble où se trouve le laboratoire. Phil donne ses instructions, puis s'introduit dans le bâtiment avec May et Quan. Grâce à une caméra thermique, ils arrivent facilement jusqu'à la pièce où se trouve le captif. May et Coulson neutralisent les gardes pendant que l'agent chinois délivre Chan. Mais la suite ne se déroule pas comme prévu. Convaincu de son avenir en tant que 'Torche', Chan s'injecte les plaquettes qu'on lui a prélevées et tue l'agent Quan qui tombe en cendres sous les yeux horrifiés de Coulson. Chan accuse le S.H.I.E.L.D. d'être responsable de ce qu'il lui arrive, en ayant voulu contrarier son don. May tente de le raisonner. En vain. 

En voyant l'équipe de terrain en difficulté, Ward libère Skye et Miles et sollicite leur aide. Alors que le hacker pirate le système de sécurité du laboratoire depuis le Bus, Skye accompagne Ward sur le terrain pour tenter de débloquer les portes. Quand elle y parvient, Chan échappe à Coulson et May et retrouvent Raina et Debbie dans un couloir. Raina n'hésite pas à laisser sa complice seule face à l'homme en colère, et s'éclipse en prenant l'ascenseur. Sans pitié, Chan réduit Debbie en cendres. 

Coulson prend la décision de tuer Chan qui est devenu incontrôlable. May arrive silencieusement dans le dos de l'homme et lui injecte un produit paralysant. La combustion s'amorce. Suivant les conseils de Jemma et Fitz, Miles s'arrange pour diriger l'explosion vers un conduit d'aération qui monte jusqu'au toit. Alors que les agents du S.H.I.E.L.D. sortent précipitamment de l'immeuble, l'explosion a lieu sans faire d'autres victimes que Chan qui vient de partir en fumée.

Dans le Bus - Coulson décide de laisser Miles Lydon à Hong Kong sans ressource au lieu de l'enfermer en prison. Il a fait don du million de dollars que Raina lui avait versé à la famille de l'agent Quan. En prime, il attache à son poignet un bracelet qui l'empêche d'utiliser les appareils électroniques, ce qui l'obligera à trouver une autre activité pour avoir des revenus.

Coulson convoque ensuite Skye dans son bureau. Quand elle propose à Ward qui est son superviseur de l'accompagner, il refuse froidement, lui faisant comprendre qu'elle l'a déçu. Seule face à son chef, Skye affronte sa colère alors qu'il l'accuse de n'avoir fait que mentir depuis son arrivée. Il la somme de s'expliquer, exigeant de savoir dans quel but elle a voulu rejoindre le S.H.I.E.L.D. sans quoi, son histoire s'arrêtera là. Résignée, Skye pose devant lui une carte mémoire. Les larmes aux yeux, elle lui explique que cette carte contient toutes les informations qu'elle a pu réunir sur sa vie. Elle confesse avoir appris à pirater et avoir rejoint Rising Tide dans le seul but de découvrir qui était ses parents. En vain jusqu'ici. Après des années de recherches, elle n'a trouvé qu'un document largement censuré avec l'entête du S.H.I.E.L.D. mentionnant son arrivée à l'orphelinat où elle a grandi. Skye ajoute que peu importe la décision de Coulson, elle ne cessera jamais de chercher des réponses. Après l'avoir avertie qu'elle n'aimera peut-être pas ce qu'elle trouvera, il lui propose son aide, mais tend néanmoins vers elle un bracelet similaire à celui qu'il a imposé à Miles. Skye le met à son poignet pendant qu'il quitte la pièce. 

Dans une prison - Raina rend visite à un détenu, l'informe de la mort de Debbie. Il se réjouit de la nouvelle. Elle ajoute qu'ils ont désormais une solution à leur problème de combustion ce qui permet de passer à la 'phase 2'. Raina lui demande d'entrer en contact avec le 'Clairvoyant' pour qu'il les éclaire sur la 'phase 3'.

Chan Ho Yin, a street magician makes his show.

CHAN (in chinese): My grandfather often said that every man is a mystery. Some men harbor beautiful secrets. Others hide darker ones. He believed the only way to know a man’s true nature is to pierce his outer shell. And gaze within.
MAN (in Chinese): Lame trick.
WOMAN (in Chinese): They were in the egg.

Chan looks at his tip box. A woman with a floral dress looks smiling. He looks and looks. He lights a fireball in his hand. She smiles.

CHAN (in Chinese): This is not a trick.

People leave except the woman in flower dress.

RAINA: How did you do that ?
CHAN: A magician never reveals his secrets.
RAINA: Then I'll have to pierce your shell and gaze within ?
CHAN: You understood. Chan Ho Yin.
RAINA: Raina. I would love to see that fire trick again.
CHAN: I don't think that's a good idea.
RAINA: Of course not. It's a great idea.

Chan arrives home with Raina.

CHAN: I am sorry for the clutter. I'm in between places.

He closes the door.

RAINA: How long have you been here ?
CHAN: Six years. Beer ?

She made nod. He go to took beers. He gives her a beer. She sees magicians posters on the walls.

RAINA: You seem to have an appreciation for the greats.
CHAN: I dolized him for many years.
RAINA: And now ?
CHAN: There's no real magic there, just tricks.
RAINA: And what you do ... those aren't tricks ? Show me.
CHAN: I'm sorry. I really shouldn't.
RAINA: Says who ? What are you afraid of ?
CHAN: It's not me who's afraid.

He creates a fireball in his hand.

RAINA: That can't be real.
CHAN: See for yourself.

She touches the flame.

RAINA: How long have you been able to...
CHAN: First time was a few years ago. A dish towel caught fire in my hands. I almost burned down my entire apartment.
RAINA: And it doesn't hurt ?
CHAN: Not even a little.

He extinguished the flame.

RAINA: You have a gift. I've never seen anything like it. Why not show the world ?
CHAN: I ask that same question every day. There are people who... Never mind. It's just... for years, I did illusions, tricks, like the rest. And then this happens. It's real ... real magic. If I believed in such things, I would say it was a miracle, that this happened for a reason.
RAINA: I believe you've been chosen.
CHAN:  You do ?
RAINA: Close your eyes... ...and I'll show you. That'll do.

He surprised and opens his eyes. Two men in suits are a dimension of Raira. Chan tries to run away but the men grabbed. He takes a knife and wounded one of the men but gets knocked.

SHIELD’S BUS

We see the plane flies.

WARD: Every decision you make from here on out has consequences. So be warned...

We see Ward.

WARD: the kiddie gloves are off. 
SKYE: G7.
WARD: Hit.
SKYE: Yes ! Ha !

They play at the battleship.

SKYE: So, explain to me again what this has to do with my training.
WARD: t's important for every S.O. to evaluate their student's thought process.
SKYE: Mm-hmm.
WARD: And I like board games. B10.
SKYE: Nope. This isn't thinking. This is stabbing in the dark, but it's nice to take a break from the workouts.
WARD: Well... You deserve a break. I got to give Coulson credit. I would have never pegged an Ex-Rising Tide hacker as a good fit, but... you're picking things up pretty fast.
SKYE: Did you just give me a compliment ?
WARD: I ... no, I made a comment.
SKYE: A kind one. Did it physically hurt to do that ? Do you need an ice pack ?

Both laugh.

SKYE: Wow. A compliment and a smile.
WARd: Comment.
SKYE: I don't want to ruin the moment, but I'm gonna have to respond with... G4.

Ward stop smiling.

SKYE: Say it, Ward. Say it.
WARD: You sank my battleship.
SKYE: Yes !
WARD: All right, best 2 out of 3.

Coulson is observed in the corner. May happen next Coulson.

SKYE: I beat you.
WARD: Best 2 out of 3.
SKYE: Best I just won out of nothing.
COULSON: She's fitting in nicely.
MAY: Gloating ? 
COULSON: A little.
MAY: You were up early this morning. Heard you puttering around even before I started Tai Chi. Having trouble sleeping ?
COULSON: No, I feel great. Just have a little extra energy to burn.
MAY: If you want, I could lay out the mats downstairs. We could go a few rounds, like the old days ?

They look and smile. There is a ring.

MAY: Saved by the bell.

A few minutes later the whole team is in the meeting room.

COULSON: Chan Ho Yin ... just a struggling street performer until a few years ago, when Mr. Chan began to exhibit moderate pyrokinetic abilities.
FITZ: So what gave him powers ?
COULSON: t's still under investigation, but Chan did live near the decommissioned Wan Tai nuclear plant when it caught fire. To our knowledge, no other nearby residents have exhibited similar traits.
SIMMONS: So how did we find out about him ?
MAY: Informant saw him lighting torches in a street show... with his pinkie.
COULSON: Brought it to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s attention. We told him to keep his abilities under wraps. He's been on the index ever since.
SKYE: The index ?
SIMMONS: It's a list S.H.I.E.L.D. keeps of people and objects with powers.
SKYE: Wait. What ? How many are there ? Are you saying there are more people ...
MAY: Not many.
SKYE: Well, enough to keep a list.
COULSON: A short list, meant to protect them.
WARD: Though, in rare cases, S.H.I.E.L.D. has had to take action.
SKYE: Action against objects or people? Well, that's drastic with a side of creepy. How are they monitored ... Tapped phones, satellite surveillance, body probes in dark, unpleasant places ?
FITZ: Body probes ? Now, that's ridiculous. S.H.I.E.L.D. doesn't do that. We don't do that. (to Coulson)  Do we ?
COULSON: He was assigned a case agent who checked in with him every few days.

May activated internet  communication.

COULSON: That's how we discovered him missing.
MAY (in Chinese): Hella Agent Kwan. How are you ?
KWAN (in Chinese): Not as good as I could be.
MAY: Everyone, this is agent Kwan, Chan Ho Yin's case agent. What can you tell us ?

KWAN: Not much, I'm afraid. Chan is a magician, so at first, I thought he'd made himself disappeared.
COULSON: The file says you'd caught him violating his index agreement before.
KWAN: On two separate occasions ... claimed we were "hampering his artistic expression." But late last night, he was taken by professionals. The only thing they left behind was this scrap of aluminized material.
SIMMONS: Fireproof clothing.
WARD: So whoever took him knew about his power.
KWAN: Yes, and we think we know why. Over the last few days, tech division discovered a crack into our data stream. It's the same cyber punks who hacked us before. Somehow, they got in again. It's the Rising Tide. 

The team looks Skye.

KAWN: Hello ? It got real quiet. You guys still there ? 

A few minutes later. Coulson is in his office with Skye and Ward.

SKYE: The Rising Tide is a huge organization of hacktivists from all around the world. Any of them could have done this! It wasn't me.
WARD: No one's saying it was.
SKYE: But you're thinking it. I can see your faces thinking it.
COULSON: We're assessing the situation.
SKYE: Then I'm sure you're taking into account that I have been living on a plane with you this whole time. It would be impossible for me to hack S.H.I.E.L.D.
COULSON: Or easier. We're gonna need more than that.
SKYE: Fine. Let me trace the hack, and I'll prove it.
WARD: I believe her, sir. And if she's telling the truth, we need to track down the person responsible.
COULSON: Dig up something, and fast. The longer Mr. Chan's missing, the more danger he's in.

We seen Chan lying on a bed. Raina is standing next to him. He wakes up.

RAINA: Good morning, Chan
CHAN: What the hell ?
RAINA: I apologize for last night. It was important I bring you in under the radar.
CHAN: Oh. S.H.I.E.L.D. Tell Agent Kwan I don't need to be read the power protocols again. It was just a street performance ... it's not like I set anyone on fire.
RAINA: I don't work for S.H.I.E.L.D. I come as a friend.
CHAN: English isn't my first language, but that word means something different than you think.
RAINA: I understand your frustration, but I believe you have a gift. And if you let me, I'd like to help you nurture it. I can increase it. You'll get people's attention then.
CHAN:  Increase my power ? Why ? What's the catch ?
RAINA: I'd like to run some tests.
CHAN: There it is. Now, will you let me go, or must I fight my way out ?
RAINA: Leave now, and I'll forget you, I promise, but so will everyone else. Stay, and you can be remembered, known the world over.
CHAN: You want to make Chan Ho Yin a famous name ?
RAINA: No. You need a simpler name, a ... a more powerful name, a name like... Scorch.
CHAN: Scorch ? Are you joking ?
RAINA: Have you ever heard of Steve Rogers ? No. But Captain America ... now, he's on the news, on a lunchbox, on a poster on the wall.
CHAN: I don't want to be a superhero.
RAINA: You want to be recognized... for your gift. And who is more recognizable than them ?
CHAN: I was given this power for a reason.I just want people to see what I can do.
RAINA: They will. All I want is what you want ... for you to be remembered, to be seen for what you're meant to be... ...a star.
CHAN: Scorch. It's growing on me.

She smiles.

SHIELD’S BUS

Skye working on the computer. Fitz, Simmons, May and Ward looks. Coulson arrives.

COULSON: How close are we ?
SKYE: Almost there.
FITZ: She's identified the remote-access trojan and the infected endpoint...
SIMMONS: And is searching for a TCP to correlate the hypertext with signature information and then...
FITZ: Bob is your uncle.
SIMMONS: ... voilá.
COULSON (to Ward): You get any of that ?
WARD: Only the uncle part.
SKYE: We got our origin ... Austin, Texas.
COULSON: You got a name ?
SKYE: Just the café our hacker worked out of, but I'm in the system. I'm gonna check to see if any credit-card charges from that day match up with any known hackers. We got a hit.
FITZ: Miles Lydon, not Skye ... that's to all of our relief.
COULSON: You know him ?
SKYE: Every hacker in the world knows him.
SIMMONS: Not just the hacker world. He infiltrated the Kremlin.
FITZ: Yeah, the picture of, uh, Putin shirtless on horseback ... that was his hack.
WARD: It was also his hack that got Chan kidnapped.
COULSON: May, set a course for Austin.
MAY: Just did.
SKYE: What about Chan ?
COULSON: Kwan's got a S.H.I.E.L.D. team on the ground. Our best bet is to chase this thing from the other end. Find Mr. Lydon, bring him in. See what he knows.

AUSTIN, TEXAS

Skye walking down the street.

SKYE: Just left the café where Miles logged in. Cashier says she hasn't seen him in over a week.
WARD: I may have eyes on him.

Ward look Miles coming out of a store. Austin turns his head and sees Ward. Austin runs off.

WARD: I've been made. Heading East on 5th street. Target is now in a silver Jetta.

Austin started. A black 4x4 follows.

COULSON: I got him.

Austin tries to sow Coulson.

MILES:  All right, suit. You asked for it.

He activates something on his phone.

MILES: Gridlock protocol.

All the light turns green at the same time. Miles arrives at asser but Coulson find themselves stuck between several cars.

COULSON: I lost him.

Miles arrives at home. It locks.

SKYE: You sure they're not following you ?
MILES: Yeah. Had to pull out all the stops, though. Thanks for the text. Wait, are you mad ?
SKYE: Are you kidding me ? I don't have much time. Who did you leak those files to ?
MILES:  Wait a second. What ? "Good to see you, too, Miles." I released them into the world, where they belong.
SKYE: They'll keep hunting you unless they have someone else to look for. And why the hell would you hack S.H.I.E.L.D.?
MILES: Because that's what we do.
SKYE: Not when I'm on the inside. You could have ruined everything, you dumbass.
MILES: Seems like you handled it.
SKYE: I've come too far for you to ... Why are looking at me like that ?
MILES: Did you just call me "dumbass" ?
SKYE: Stop smiling. I'm serious.
MILES: Because I taught you everything you know, so what does that make you ?
SKYE: No, you didn't.
MILES: I'm sorry. I can't help it. I've been missing you like crazy.

They kiss and begins to undress. Miles was hugs her. A moment later. Skye ends to put her bra. She looks at her sim card and put away. Miles sat down next and watch her.

MILES: That's where you keep that, huh ?
SKYE: Better safe than busted.
MILES: Making any progress on that ?
SKYE: I'm digging, but your little stunt is gonna make it harder. (sighs) Where's my top ?
MILES: You know, I could be helping you. If you send me ciphertext, I could be working on algorithms ...
SKYE:  No, I can't contact you. I never should have. There's a S.H.I.E.L.D. team looking for you right now ... my team. And if they suspect something, I'm screwed.
MILES: There's a joke here that I'm resisting that involves the word "screwed."
SKYE: Shut up. There's a guy in trouble because of you, and I got to get back. So if you want to help me, help me find my clothes.
MILES: Hey. I'm sorry, Skye. Really, I am, if I messed anything up. I've missed you.
SKYE: Me, too. But we talked about this when I left for L.A. I've got a chance here. So S.H.I.E.L.D.'s off-limits, okay ?
MILES: Okay. 

They seek the clothes of Skye.

MILES: At least tell me what it's like. Come on, the belly of the beast. 
SKYE: Surprisingly... unbeastly. I've got good people I'm working with.

Miles find Skye's pants. He gives her.

MILES: Some good stories, though, I hope ?
SKYE: Miles. You have no idea. But that's classified.
MILES: You did not just say that to me !

She laughs.

MILES: Come on, you got to tell me something.
SKYE: Someday.
MILES: Well, if they ever let you go on leave or whatever, let me know, and I'll get us a suite at the... fancy hotel that has suites, and you can regale me with stories while naked.
SKYE: A suite ? You ? That's funny. But they're never gonna let me go on anything if I don't find my stupid...

She opens the door and came face to face with May tending her up.

SKYE: ...top.
MAY: Get... dressed.

A few minutes later, while the team is in the apartment. Skye is on the living room with Coulson, Ward, Simmons and Fitz. Miles in the room with May. May closes the door.

SKYE: I know how this looks ...
COULSON: How long have you two been in contact ?
SKYE: I contacted him once the day I joined to tell him I was okay and once earlier today.
COULSON: When you tipped off an active suspect ?
SKYE: No, it's not like that. Miles and I ... we met when we were both a little screwed up. Scratch that ... he was a little screwed up, I was a lot. But we looked after one another. That's why I warned him, not because we're working together on this, but because we're... friends. I'm really sorry.

Coulson away. Skye looks Ward. Fitz and Simmons  sit a little longer. Fitz looks to Skye then turns to Simmons.

COULSON: Gather all the evidence and secure the prisoners. We got what we were looking for here. We're going to Hong Kong.

SIMMONS: There's a good chance his genetics could stabilize the extremis element of the Centipede serum.
FITZ: Keep their test subjects from going...

KWAN: Either they're guarding the world's largest vacuum...
COULSON: Or that's where Chan's being held. Send your "B" and "C" teams in through the tunnels to secure the lower floors. Warn them that the Centipede serum's highly explosive.
KWAN: Understood. Where do we go in ?
COULSON: The roof.

They are in the building.

MAY: There. Heat signature confirmed.
COULSON: I love these things.

Coulson up a small explosive on the door.Between May first. She neutralize the guards.They join Chan.

CHAN: Agent Kwan... it's you.
KWAN: We're here to get you out.

A technician initiates the alarm. The doors will lock.

COULSON: Strike team needs a security override, stat. Kwan, can you arrange ...

He sees Chan, burning Kwan.Chan inject serum.

COULSON: Chan, what have you done ?
CHAN: I've set myself free.

Chan create flames and launches them towards coulson.Ward enters in the Cellul Skye and Miles.

WARD: Coulson's in trouble.

He detaches Skye. Chan's arms her burn. Coulson and May behind cages.

CHAN: Aaaah !
COULSON: Mr. Chan, I know you're in pain.
CHAN: This is nothing. You were the ones killing me, forcing me to keep this gift locked up inside.
MAY (in Chinese): Chan, I’m sorry you’ve lived a life you didn’t want…but violence will solve nothing.

COULSON: So we're good, right ?

In the bus.

SIMMONS: The entire facility's been locked down.

SKYE: The alarms disconnected the system from all exterior servers.

SKYE: Yes, but you've got to get me on-site.

In the building. Chan throws flames to Coulson and May.

CHAN: Nothing can stop me !
MAY (to his radio): Where are we on the doors ?

Ward and Skye are in the building.

WARD: Almost there.

Ward fights with guards. The woman is in the hallway. She phones.

WOMAN: S.H.I.E.L.D. has infiltrated the building. No, it's under control.

She hangs up.

RAINA: Didn't want to tell them ? han's true nature has revealed itself.

The woman ran to the elevator.

RAINA: I wish you all the best.

Raina closes the door.

WOMAN: Please, look, we can fix you... make you stronger, take the name Scorch and make it mean something.
CHAN: It already does. 

It sends flames by the soil. The woman burned. Coulson arrives

COULSON: Mr. Chan, we don't want to hurt you... ...but we have to.

May Chan comes up behind him and injects a product that neutralizes it.

COULSON: We gotta move !

Coulson and May leave. Chan's body begins to burn from the inside. On the bus. Miles is on the computer.

SIMMONS: You need to drive the blast into the main ventilation shaft.
FITZ: Yeah, and on up to the roof. 

Miles closes the doors of the building and headed up the extraction of the building. Chan is about to explode. Coulson, May, Ward and Skye out. There is an explosion of flame on the top of the building.

WARD: Skye managed to extract some files from the building's mainframe. It's not much, but could get us a fix on Centipede.
COULSON: Maybe.
WARD: You can't save someone from themselves, sir.
COULSON: You can if you get to them early enough.

He look Skye.
Later in the plane.Skye, Coulson and Miles were on the bridge. Coulson goes to Miles with a box.

 

COULSON: You've got two choices ... take what's in this box, or we put you in a slightly bigger one.
MILES: You want to give me a hint ? What's it do ?

Miles takes the box and opens it. There is a bracelet.

MILES: What's it do ?

Coulson takes the strap and carry handle puts him miles.

COULSON:  Whatever we tell it to do. I'd try to avoid any unlawful activity, and I think you'll find it hard to use electronic devices for a while. You can go now.

WARD: I'm off the clock.
SKYE: Right. Okay, then.

She go to Coulson’s office.

SKYE: I didn't want anything to ...
COULSON: Stop lying. Since the moment you stepped foot on this plane, you've been lying to my face, to all of us.
SKYE: I haven't ...
COULSON: You're lying now ! I stood up for you to my team down there. And some of us started to believe in you, risked our lives for you.
SKYE: I ...

RAINA: The doctor is dead.

RAINA: Well, she did find a solution to our... combustion problem. We believe we'll soon have stable subjects. On to stage two.
MAN: That mean my situation's going to improve any ?
RAINA: Well, other problems have surfaced ... resurfaced, I should say. The S.H.I.E.L.D. unit in Hong Kong ... we've encountered them before. They... took our subject off the map in Los Angeles.
MAN: Not much I can do about that in here. So that's not why I'm getting the visit.
RAINA: We would like you to touch base with the Clairvoyant. See if any insights can be given... on stage three.
MAN: The Clairvoyant doesn't like to be touched.
RAINA: We all have to do things that make us uncomfortable if we are ever to get our toy soldiers off the shelf. You know that better than any of us.
